CREATIVITY
Everything in life is art.

What you do. How you dress. The way you love someone, and how you talk.
Your smile and your personality. What you believe in, and all your dreams.
The way you drink your tea. How you decorate your home. Or party. Your grocery list. The food you make. How your writing looks. And the way you feel.

Life is art.

This page contains art in all the forms I love.
My mother was an artist in every sense of the word: she painted oils with a palette knife, was a master cake decorator and sewed all her clothes. Her soul swooned over opera and cello music. I've always known I was creative. I started writing stories at age six. I absolutely love clothes as an expression of my personality. My perennial garden is a work of art - it's like painting with flowers. It's an absorbing quest, playing with colour and proportion. In business, I could connect the seemingly unrelated to solve problems or write strategy. But I didn't pursue visual art until 2023, when my friend Susan Mann took me on an art retreat in Mexico (thank you, Susan!) led by Jennifer Orkin Lewis and Gayle Kabaker . I'm hooked! It's a fabulous way to get outta my overthinking head. Time feels boundless and it allows me to be fully present.
You are a creative being.

Find a pursuit that resonates - cooking, painting stones or arranging your home to create ambiance that soothes you. Try something that taps into the creative well within. When you find what feeds your soul, consider setting aside time to pursue it as a practice. Remember, leadership is a way of being and elevating one's consciousness also requires "being." Anything that boosts your ability to be in flow and let go of your habit of being highly productive is a good thing. It's also reduces stress relief and boosts mental health. It's all good 😊.
My first attempt at alcohol ink (2023). Fun medium 😊
My flower garden on the Canadian Prairies (Regina, Saskatchewan).
Collage made of ripped up paper with midge lodge. I created this the week my former husband died and it felt like a download.
Awakening Hope
I love this spectacular piece by artist Bonnie Chapman. I have it hanging in my art room above my meditation table.

Artist's statement

“Awakening Hope was created through opening to
a sacred download given to me from my near death experience at age three months, and knowledge
from my Celtic ancestral continuum: passing on wisdom, compassion, mercy, kindness, love, and
hope through images.
We are all on a path of transformative healing and growth, embracing fortitude to weather life’s uncertainties, choosing faith over fear, and a constancy to healing over staying in woundedness.
In being willing to show up for and to our own hearts with vulnerability, courage, and openness, we are Awakening Hope within.”

Kellie's first attempt
at alcohol ink
I took an art sampler course last year and we played with alcohol ink. I love this medium and would like to experiment with it more.
